I see this so many times and this is why I dislike plastic cable housing ferrules.The cable ferrules gets bent and kinked from tight cable bends. This kinked ferrule can end up causing bad shifting from excess friction in the cable (not something you want) and rapid cable wear. With enough pressure and time, the plastic ferrules will actually break causing even bigger problems. Metal cable housing ferrules are always the best choice.
